Gen5 Switch (Fully backwards compatible with Gen1-4)

Supports two Switch modes

  • Individual mode, dual independent 7-port (8-lane) switches

Configurations of each switch:

  • One upstream port: two or four lanes – Up to six downstream ports: six lanes

Cascade mode 11-port (12-lane) switch

Configurations of cascade switch: One upstream port: two or four lanes – Up to ten downstream ports: ten lanes

Switch features:

  • TLP credit allocation – Round-robin arbitration
  • Peer-to-peer transaction: this allows endpoint device access memory without the CPU involvement
  • Access Control Service (ACS) on downstream ports only
  • Data protection with LCRC, ECR, ECC and parity check

EEPROM/SPI/SMBus/JTAG with integrated MCU
